Welcome to a new era for Genesis: Battle of Champions!
…
It is the dawning of an exciting new era in Genesis: Battle of Champions, as it was recently announced that Edge of Exile Entertainment has now purchased the rights to take up the reigns of continuing the future development of the game.
When the original creator of the game, Assad Quraishi, announced that Haunted Castle Gaming would be shutting down operations it was a sudden shock for the many players across the world who had grown to love Genesis: BoC. Many people expressed interest in wanting to find a way to save the game, and in the end the successful bid to purchase the Intellectual Property and rights to continue the game would be sold to a trio of prominent Genesis fans who also already have ties in the gaming industry.
Jason Malott (President, EoEE) and Janis Freeman (Vice-President, EoEE) are co-owners of North Of Exile Games - a local game store located in Midland, Ontario which has been supporting Genesis: Battle of Champions since 2020.
The third partner is Jeffrey Pacitto (Chief Design Officer), an artist who has previously created many popular fan art pieces for Genesis. Jeffrey also happens to be an experienced game designer, having worked on and independently released several card games of his own design.
In the short time since the announcement of new ownership, Edge of Exile Entertainment has already signed two individuals who previously contributed to design work on Genesis for Haunted Castle Gaming, to continue their valuable contributions in shaping the future of the Genesis.
